Thank you to every golfer who donated and supported Western Canada’s first permanent housing for at-risk and homeless veterans. The tournament gave our team an opportunity to connect with golfers and share how their donations will bring vital programs online for the Edmonton Home.

2026 YEG Charity Golf Classic Raises $80,000

Veterans House Canada was one of three charitable beneficiaries at the 2026 YEG Charity Golf Classic, held Aug. 14 at RedTail Landing Golf Club. Golfers, sponsors, and volunteers came together for a day of golf and fundraising in support of organizations making a difference across the Edmonton region.

Thanks to the generosity of everyone who participated, sponsored, and donated, this year’s Classic raised $80,000 for Veterans House Canada, bringing the Edmonton Home one step closer to providing permanent, affordable housing and wraparound support for veterans experiencing homelessness.

After the round, Edmonton Operations Manager Trevor Friesen, CD, P.Eng., spoke to attendees about the impact permanent supportive housing will have for veterans in our community. The event also strengthened existing partnerships and introduced new supporters to our mission.

Now in its 15th year, the YEG Charity Golf Classic has become a cornerstone of Edmonton’s philanthropic calendar, reflecting the generosity of the Edmonton airport community. This year’s event raised more than $240,000, shared among three local organizations doing vital work:

• Leduc & District Food Bank Association
• Niginan Housing Ventures
• Veterans House Canada

Veterans House Canada is deeply grateful to the YEG Charity Golf Classic organizing committee, sponsors, volunteers, and everyone who made this year’s event possible.

These two tournaments raised $125,000 for permanent, supportive housing for Edmonton’s at-risk and homeless veterans. But we are not there yet; one veteran experiencing homelessness is one too many.
