As the holiday season approaches, Veterans’ House Canada is launching its Home for the Holidays campaign. The campaign asks Canadians to help ensure those who served our country have a safe place to call their own.

Between 3,000 and 5,000 Canadian veterans are currently experiencing homelessness. Across Canada, Veterans House Canada is building permanent, affordable and supportive housing communities designed for veterans’ unique needs. Through Home for the Holidays, Canadians can give, share the campaign’s content and help replace isolation with a vibrant community.

Starting Oct. 7, 2026, Canadians can donate online at veteranshousecanada.ca, by e-transfer, phone, mail or text. Funds raised will help Veterans House Canada provide permanent homes with support, counseling, and mentoring so residents can end their homelessness and re-enter the wider community.

For many veterans, homelessness is not a consequence of personal failure. It is the lasting impact of profound sacrifices made while serving our country. Homeless veterans deserve more than a temporary winter shelter. Veterans’ House Canada offers a veterans-only setting where former military peers can lean on one another, along with on-site employment programs and specialized support for mental health, addiction recovery, and the often-invisible challenges of the military-to-civilian transition.

To help connect with more communities, from Nov. 1 to 15, you can join fellow Canadians in supporting veterans at select BMO bank branches across Ottawa, Gatineau and Edmonton. Visit a participating branch to donate. Your donation will support Veterans House Canada’s work on behalf of homeless veterans across Canada.

You can also support the campaign by sharing Home for the Holidays content on social media. Key messages include: They Have Given for Us. Please Give for Them. and One Simple Act Can Change a Veteran’s Life.
