Summer Golf Fundraisers Support Veterans’ House Canada’s Mission to End Veteran Homelessness

Two charity golf tournaments brought communities together to raise more than $169,500 in support of Veterans’ House Canada’s mission to end veteran homelessness.

TORONTO/OTTAWA –

Two charity golf tournaments held this summer raised more than $169,500 total for Veterans’ House Canada, supporting its mission to end veteran homelessness across the country by providing more permanent and supportive housing.

The 2026 annual Canso Charity Golf Tournament, led by Canso Investment Counsel Ltd., and held June 16 at Eagles Nest Golf Club in Toronto, raised more than $115,000 in support of Veterans’ House Edmonton, a 40-unit supportive housing community currently in development for veterans experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.

Veterans’ House Canada thanks the event’s planning team. Annabella, Alessandra, Silvia and Erika, along with volunteers, and sponsors, including title sponsor Lysander Funds; platinum sponsor Alpha FMC; and gold sponsors CIBC, Tamiron, Casgrain, EllisDon, Venture and Paragon Faction; and on-hole vendors Total Rehabilitation and Chiropractic Centre, Backed by Bees and Get Baked.

Nine days later, on June 25, Newfound Recruiting hosted its third annual Charity Golf Tournament at The Marshes Golf Club in Ottawa, raising $54,504.57 and   surpassing its $50,000 fundraising goal. Veterans’ House Canada was the tournament’s featured charitable organization, with Newfound Recruiting serving as both organizer and presenting sponsor. Special thanks go to CEO Steve Stanley and the Newfound Recruiting team for their support.

The evening featured dinner, a live auction, remarks by  Stanley and Wayne Duggan, Ottawa Operations Manager at Veterans’ House Canada’s Canso Campus, and a video sharing Johan’s story and how stable housing and support services changed his life.

Supporting sponsors included gold sponsors The Marshes Golf Club, Eazy Benefits and Calian; silver sponsors DBM Contracting, Emond Harnden, Hayes Law and Kelly Santini LLP; and additional community partners, including IDIRA powered by Palo Alto Networks, Dunrobin Distilleries, Charity Golf International, Meatings BBQ and 1000 Islands Brewery.

Through growing community support for Veterans’ House Canada’s mission, we’re slowly but surely transforming the landscape of permanent housing and wraparound support for at-risk veterans.
