Edmonton Civic Employees Charitable Assistance Fund (ECECAF) Sponsors Edmonton’s Veterans’ House.
A generous $100,000 sponsorship from (ECECAF) drives progress on Edmonton’s Veterans’ House building project.

EDMONTON, Alberta (December 2025) – Veterans’ House Canada is proud to announce a $100,000 sponsorship from Edmonton Civic Employees Charitable Assistance Fund (ECECAF) to support the Community Development & Health Support Office in the future home for unhoused Veterans across Edmonton. This vital funding arrives at a key phase in the construction of 40 permanent housing units dedicated to Veterans. Derek McIntyre, representing ECECAF’s board of trustees, attended the groundbreaking ceremony in September to reaffirm ECECAF’s strong commitment to the Edmonton community and those who have served the nation.
“On behalf of Veterans’ House Canada, I want to express our deepest gratitude to ECECAF for the extraordinary commitment to our Veterans,” said Angella of Veterans’ House Canada. “Their generous $100,000 sponsorship is more than a financial contribution, it is a powerful statement of compassion and community leadership that will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who have bravely served our nation. Thank you for standing with our Veterans and for your profound impact on their well-being. We are deeply grateful for your partnership and look forward to sharing the positive outcomes made possible by your generosity.”
Founded in 1941, ECECAF was created to aid military patients in Edmonton hospitals, assist soldiers and their families during World War II, and support research organizations. The Fund remains active, on the verge of celebrating 85years, with over 11,000 members from nine unions and associations contributing to its mission. In the last three decades, ECECAF has donated more than $30 million to charities in the Edmonton region.
ECECAF is pleased to contribute to Edmonton’s Veterans’ House project as this support aligns with their goal of “impacting lives and promoting healthy communities” in Edmonton and area.
The Veterans’ House Canada Edmonton project will provide 40 units of permanent, affordable housing, as well as on-site support services for veterans who have experienced homelessness.
“The generosity of Edmonton Civic Employees Charitable Assistance Fund helps make this vision possible,” added John Atoyebi | Marketing & Communications Manager, Veterans’ House Canada. “Their commitment reminds us that Edmonton is a city that never forgets its Veterans.”
